CORONA, California (November 22, 2017) – The Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by RAM Mounts brought the curtain down on 2017 in Las Vegas Saturday night (November 18) with a 100-lap race that celebrated a successful season with two new sponsors.

RAM Mounts joined as the series’ title sponsor for all 12 races and Spray Nine introduced itself with several event sponsorships, including the finale, and its innovative Race of Champions. That three-race competition within the series offered separate bonus awards for the nine drivers accumulating the most points in races at Bakersfield, California, in February, Irwindale, California, in August and The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday night.

Scott Winters won the Spray Nine Race of Champions title with his second-place finish behind Kyle Tellstrom in the RAM Mounts 100 Shootout. That earned the Tracy, California, resident a $600 share of the $2,000 Spray Nine will distribute at the series’ awards dinner January 13 at the BlueWater Casino and Resort in Parker, Arizona.

Winters, who went into the final race tied with Ryan Partridge in the Race of Champions standings, finished with 208 points to 190 for Jason Irwin and 164 for Partridge, who slipped to third after finishing 24th Saturday.

Irwin will collect $400 in addition to his other season winnings at the awards dinner. Partridge will take home $300 and Doug Hamm $200. Dylan Cappello, Linny White, series champion Taylor Miinch, Austin Barnes and Jim Mardis will get $100 apiece.

“We really want to thank RAM Mounts and Spray Nine for their involvement,” series promoter Greg Scheidecker said. “We couldn’t have asked for two better partners. They both went far beyond their contractual obligations to help us have one of our most competitive seasons and we look forward to working with them and all our other sponsors in the years to come.”
